Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.

Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper. When you're satisfied that your submission meets this standard, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.

Copyright Notice

The Journal of Asian Development Studies is an open access journal for authors and readers. All the accepted articles are immediately freely available to everyone, including those who don’t subscribe. To cover the cost of publishing, authors pay an article processing fee for each accepted article. The transfer of copyright is standard practice, and it is designed to facilitate the protection from copyright abuse for authors, editors, and publishers involved in the creation of a single copyright product composed of multiple contributions. After acceptance of the research paper, the author will have to sign a copyright policy to ensure maximum international protection against infringement, libel, or plagiarism.

Introduction

Your privacy is important to Journal of Asian Development Studies. This privacy statement provides information about the personal information that JADS collects, and the ways in which JADS uses that personal information.

JADS may collect and use personal information that is necessary for the processing and publication of manuscripts submitted to us. This information may include names, affiliation and contact details: including postal address, emails, phone numbers and fax numbers.

Where JADS discloses your personal information to its agents or sub-contractors for these purposes, the agent or sub-contractor in question will be obligated to use that personal information in accordance with the terms of this privacy statement. 

In addition to the disclosures reasonably necessary for the purposes identified elsewhere above, JADS may disclose your personal information to the extent that it is required to do so by law, in connection with any legal proceedings or prospective legal proceedings, and in order to establish, exercise or defend its legal rights.

Securing your data

JADS will take reasonable technical and organisational precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of your personal information. 

Cross-border data transfers

Information that JADS collects may be stored and processed in and transferred between any of the countries in which JADS operates to enable the use of the information in accordance with this privacy policy.

In addition, personal information that you submit for publication on the website will be published on the internet and may be available around the world.
