Application of Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria for Growth Enhancement of Tamarix Aphylla in District Attock

Microorganisms are essential for soil fertility. A study conducted in Attock, a subtropical broad-leaved evergreen forest, discovered that plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) from the rhizosphere of Tamarix aphylla are genetically diverse and possess various beneficial traits for plant growth. These traits include phosphate solubilization, indole acetic acid production, ammonia production, and siderophore production. The identified rhizobacterial isolates, specifically Bacillus wiedmannii, show promise as bioinoculants for sustainable agricultural practices. This study highlights the importance of soil diversity and microbial interactions in agricultural ecosystems, suggesting that concurrent screening of PGPR in the field can effectively aid in selecting candidates for biofertilizer development. Further research is necessary to understand the diversity present in the rhizosphere fully.
